Korean skincare routines are often built for cooler, drier climates, so copying one step for step in Sri Lanka can leave skin greasy or overloaded. The good news is that Beauty of Joseon's range is lightweight enough to adapt.
Here is a practical routine using the non-serum products in the range: essence water, Dynasty Cream, a peeling gel, and a pore mask.
Step 1: Ginseng Essence Water (Morning and Night)
Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Essence Water (Rs 9,400) is a watery layer applied after cleansing. It adds hydration and preps skin so the products after it absorb well.
Why it suits Sri Lanka: it hydrates without feeling heavy, which matters when humidity already makes skin feel sticky. How to use: press a few drops into the face with clean hands. Do not rub.
Step 2: Your Serum
Choose one from the serum line based on your concern. Our serum matching guide covers all five, from the brightening Glow Deep to the soothing Calming Serum.
Step 3: Dynasty Cream
Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream (Rs 11,200) is the brand's signature moisturizer, designed for a rich-feeling but not greasy finish.
Who it suits best:
- Normal to dry skin, year-round
- Combination skin, used mainly at night or in air-conditioned spaces
- Anyone whose skin feels tight after cleansing
If you have oily skin: a cream like this may feel like too much in the daytime heat. Use a thin layer at night only, and a lighter gel moisturizer in the morning. Our oil control collection has lighter options.
Step 4: Sunscreen (Morning, Non-Negotiable)
No serum or cream works as well as daily SPF, especially if you are fading dark spots. Browse our sunscreen collection and reapply if you are outdoors for long.
Weekly Extras
Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel
Beauty of Joseon Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel (Rs 9,200) is a gentle gel-type exfoliator, meant to be massaged on dry skin and rolled off. It suits rough texture and dullness.
Frequency: once a week to start. Over-exfoliating in a hot, sweaty climate quickly leads to a damaged barrier. Skip it if your skin is irritated or sunburned, and avoid using it on the same night as strong acids or retinol. See our AHA vs BHA guide for how to space exfoliants.
Red Bean Refreshing Pore Mask
Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Refreshing Pore Mask (Rs 10,500) is a rinse-off mask aimed at oily, congested skin and visible pores, with a refreshing feel that suits hot days.
Frequency: once or twice a week, on the T-zone or full face, following the pack directions.
A Sample Week
Morning: cleanser → Ginseng Essence Water → serum → light moisturizer or Dynasty Cream (if dry) → sunscreen
Night: cleanser → Ginseng Essence Water → serum → Dynasty Cream
Sunday: Apricot Blossom Peeling Gel before your usual night routine Wednesday: Red Bean Pore Mask, then your usual night routine
Mistakes to Avoid
- Starting everything at once. Add one product every week or two so you can spot a reaction.
- Using the peeling gel and mask on the same day when you are new to them.
- Skipping patch tests. Our patch testing guide takes two minutes.
- Storing products in a hot bathroom or car. Heat shortens shelf life. See our skincare storage guide.
